Melissa received her bachelor's degree from Columbia College Chicago where her main focus was traditional animation, but she took some courses in fiction writing as well. Melissa also holds a master's degree in elementary education. She has worked with design companies, children's magazines, and small publishers. She loves to read and draw, and consumes copious amounts of breakfast cereal.
